Friday night at the Sugarloaf -22/07/16 was created by flt158
Good evening, all.
I know I am sticking out my neck a fair bit on this. But is anyone interested in joining me at the Sugarloaf Car Park next Friday night 22nd July?
For now I only know that the weather is dry. I do not know if the skies are going to be clear.
9 pm would be a good time for me. I like to set up the scope while it is still bright.
I am interested in having a look at Mars and Saturn and other things.
All observing equipment is very welcome.
Please reply if you are keen -thank you. The more the merrier!
Aubrey.

Hey Aubrey,
Id be interested but not sure if my wife is heading out that night. So i wont know until she knows.
Sunset at around 21.30 and moonrise at around 22.40. Dont like the moon ruining other stuff (as lovely as the moon is of course) but should get a couple of hours in. Will let you know back here closer to the time. In the meantime, i hope you get some concrete yessers!

Hi Aubrey,
I'm in for Friday night, as long as we've at least a good chance of some clear skies of course!

Hi Sean.
Thank you for this news! Let us keep an eye on the weather.
I informed John Flannery about Friday night.

I have just checked
www.met.ie
for Friday night.
It does appear hopeful for the east coast. It will be dry.
The website also states that the winds will become light and variable.
That seems quite promising for me.
Would anyone else care to join me and Sean at the Sugarloaf from say 9 pm?
We could do with safety in numbers.
I shall be contacting the Garda Siochana on Friday informing them of our plans.
