Sugarloaf observing was created by flt158
Hello all.
I am going to be totally blunt about this.
It just is not possible for me to observe the evening planets from my street right now.
I probably have seen the last of Venus for 2018.
Jupiter has gone behind the trees.
Both Saturn and Mars are too low.
So the only way I have any hope of seeing any planets is to travel to the Sugarloaf Car Park.
If this coming Friday night is clear -can any of you join me?
I can also meet up with anyone on another night.
Clear skies from Aubrey.

Hi Aubrey.
I'd be interested in observing at Sugarloaf this weekend, either on Fri or on Sat night depending on the weather. It's been a long time since I was there.
Mike.

Hi mykc.
Something tells me we have met sometime in the distant past.
But yes, let us both keep an eye on the weather between now and then.
I don't mind a Saturday evening if that suits you.
Although I am up early on Sunday morning.
So Friday night is better for me.
I'm just starving to do some planetary observing.
I do thank you very much for expressing an interest.
And you don't need to observe the planets if you so wish.
I will stay in touch using this website.
Clear skies from Aubrey!

Hi Aubrey.
Yes, we met on a couple of occasions at the Sandymount public outreach sessions. Weather permitting, this will be the first opportunity to use my new 120mm refractor at a (relatively) dark sky site, so I am looking forward to observing a variety of targets including the planets. It's not often that so many planets (and Vesta) can be observed in one session.
Mike

See what you make of this weather forecast for Friday night, Mike and everyone else.
"Mainly dry with variable cloud cover. Cooler and fresher than the last couple of nights".
There is no forecast for Saturday night for the moment on www.met.ie
I will ring around a few others to see what they are thinking.
Aubrey.

As the skies are going to be cloudy on Friday night, we will cancel our observing, Mike.
But we will see about Saturday night later.
