Cork Astronomy Club welcomes Dr Chris Watson who will give his talk titled : “Exoplanets: the past, present and future” Chris is a leading expert in his field, being head of the Exoplanet Group at Queens University Belfast. He will tell us what is known about planets orbiting other stars, and how researchers hope to increase their knowledge in the coming decades. He will touch on the tantalising question of whether we are likely to discover life there, and how we would know.
Mon 8th Oct at 8pm, in UCC’s Civil Engineering Building (this is near UCC’s College Road entrance). Please arrive 10 minutes early. If you want to join, at 7:40 please.
This is Cork Astronomy Club ’s monthly meeting, free admission. It closes at 9:40 pm but you are welcome to stay for tea afterwards, and to join our Club (€30 annual subscription, concession €20).
