Astronomy calendar for 2019 was created by johnflannery
Hi all,

Finally, I got the astronomy calendar for 2019 completed! To be honest I had originally shelved the idea because of other commitments. However, I decided to start work on the calendar at the beginning of January. I already had the majority of the data compiled from doing the Whitaker's solar system notes - it was just a matter of knocking it into the format you see in the calendar.

Rather than sell the calendar as we did in the past for IFAS, the short turnaround has meant it is released free and has also allowed the photos to be themed around the 50th anniversary of Apollo 11 landing on the Moon. I also wanted to "beat the tape" so to speak before next Monday morning's total lunar eclipse!

Anyway, the link to download it is below (2.8Mb and 28 pages). The second link is a compilation of resources and web sites to supplement the calendar.

Feel free to post up any suggestions or errors spotted. Let me know too if the download links fail to work. Thank you!

Clear skies!

John

Here in Limerick, skies were perfect at midnight, cloudy at 3 and tolerable albeit hazy during totality. Lucky to get any window at all, as completely overcast by morning. Couldn't make realistic darkness or redness estimates. This is just a single DSLR frame with 300mm lens -

That sure is a beautiful image, Finbarr.
It is most realistic to what I saw.
