Thanks Mike...shame about the clouds as I was looking forward to it. I suppose I'm free to watch the toy show now

Gosh!
I was just about to leave the house with everything in the car.
There is no moon next Friday night.
Can we meet up then instead?
Kind regards,
Aubrey.

Hi Aubrey,
I just clicked on the link you provided. I had not seen this site before - it's really useful - thanks a million!
And yes, I'd be happy to meet-up at the Sugarloaf next Friday.
Clear skies,
Darren.

But according to www.clearoutside.com the skies may clear at about 9 pm.
Clear skies (?)
Aubrey.

Hi Darren.
I was dead keen on observing Neptune in Aquarius tonight (Friday).
There is still plenty of time of course.
The sky will have hardly moved by next Friday.
I was also interested in checking out a few double stars in the same constellation.
A lot of Aquarius is not visible from my back yard.
By the way, www.clearoutside.com is not always correct.
It has been noticed that rainfall can be happening even when our skies are clear!
But they generally get the wind speed and direction spot on.
Thank you for your reply, Darren.
See you soon.
Aubrey.

That's good to know Aubrey, to date I've used Met Eireann for forecasts, so the additional detail contained on the 'clearoutside' website is very much welcomed.
There was a short break in clouds last night, and I was tempted to bring my scope out the back, but I decided to stay in and read through 'Orbit'.
I recently took out an IASmembership, so Val Dunne sent me the lastest copy. I really enjoyed reading it. You and the other contributors have put to get a wonderful publication. There's a lovely mix of articles of all astronomy enthusiasts to enjoy: Well done!
Kindest regards,
Darren.
