Sugarloaf Observing on Friday 20th Dec

The Dublin stargazers are meeting at the Sugarloaf car park on Friday 20th Dec at 8PM.

As the event is weather dependent, Check back here after 6PM to make sure that the event is going ahead.

Does anyone have an update on the weather for Friday night?
We all know it will be very cold.
But will the sky be reasonably clear for us guys who relish hardships?

The weather is not looking great at the moment.

It seems fog is going to be a problem, Michael.
And the dew that accompanies that is very nasty to refractors and SCT's.
Let's keep checking the weather.
But we might have a natter all the same.

Ah no! I was looking at MET Eireann today and they showed clear skies at 7pm, followed by partial cloud from 8pm onwards. Wind was low too. I got all excited thinking Friday was going to be a runner, but never considered the possibility of fog. Let's hope the forecast improves.
