Maybe we could talk about more astronomical issues next Friday - although we did deal with some issues last Friday.

Michael chatted about his spectacular Tulip Nebula image. Every time I hear about his image I think about the 5 points of Calvinism. You can ask me about them some time (if you dare!) - even though they have nothing to do with the nebula in Cygnus. Michael's shot will be in the next issue of Orbit for sure.

We do keep bringing up the upcoming planetary conjunction of Jupiter and Saturn. It's great that Michael has full confidence we will be able to observe the event in December from our new observing site in Glencullen.

By the way, there is the possibility we might have clear skies on Wednesday night coming!!

And on that note, I wish you clear skies,

Aubrey.

Hi Aubrey,

I'm enjoying the TV and film chats, they're a part of our Friday evenings together. It would seem strange to me if we didn't have them now. In a way they add to the meet-up. In addition, I'm getting so many good recommendations to keep me entertained through the madness we find ourselves in. For example, I watched 'Plan 9' over the past week, and like so many I found it so bad, that it was good!

I'm very much looking forward to seeing Michael's fantastic image in Orbit. Also, that December conjuction is something to look forward to. So, plenty to put a smile on our faces over the next few months despite what news we'll receive over the coming hours.

All the best,

Darren.

After 400 years, the giant planets Jupiter and Saturn are ready to amaze us with an exceptionally close conjunction. While they apparently meet up there every 20 years, next 21 Dec. they will be at their closest since 1623. Something so rare and unique that you cannot miss it.

Glencullen will be off the calendar for the next six weeks.

Programming today is a race between software engineers striving to build bigger and better programs, and the universe trying to produce bigger and better idiots. So far, the universe is winning.
