I've recently installed a Pulsar 2.2m obs and would like to automate it initially getting the dome to move at celestial speed. I've purchased and assembled a Velleman K8055n and testing it via its demo software soldering looks good and it passes the tests. However, the Velleman project may be too complex for my limited electronics knowledge. For comparison, I'm also looking at another approach here

This involves an Arduino driven stepper motor I'm looking into this at the moment. Both projects require the mounting on the pulsar of plastic or aluminium track either rubber or metal I'm wondering if anyone has any suggestions on this aspect or any other aspects of such a project.
