Hello everyone,
The forecast for tonight looks great. Is anyone interested in heading out to observe tonight?
Clear skies,
Darren.

And there is a massive Aurora alert happening too, Darren, wherever you end up!
Clear skies from Aubrey.

Hello everyone.
My wife Valerie and I have just seen a most spectacular Aurora from our back garden. We live under Bortle 8 skies. But we had no problems seeing the Aurora.
It is my wife's very first Aurora.
And it was my 4th.
We are both rejoicing greatly.
I was looking for Polaris first when I saw a long green hue over the apex of our house in the north eastern sky. Then I saw the powerful pink and a good red section immediately.
Greens and blues hues were moving over to our neighbour's house in the southeast,
But all these amazing colours stretched over to the southern sky.
I hope others saw this Aurora. I am going to remember this one for a very long time.

I should have said that the very bright star Arcturus was just south of the Aurora. But Izar was "buried" in the Aurora.
Very best regards from Aubrey.
