HI All,
Even though the nights are so short I still managed to get 105 people viewing through my telescope since Friday PM.
On Friday I gave a "Listen " NOT a TALK to a double 6th class ie I went in and told them that I was not going to lecture them but to answer any questions they may have on astronomy, after their initial surprise they got into it and we had a good session for 30 mins ,then I passed around astronomy mags while I was setting up my scope and then they all got to see the magnificent sunspots.
This morning (Sun)at 4am a group of 50 of us walked to the top of Cruchaun in the Comeragh Mountains for a charity event for the Special Olympics to view the sunrise,I just happened to have my scope with me at the "carpark"and all 50 got to see the sunspots which the organisers were very pleased with.
Just shows that opportunities exist to spread the "WORD" in unlikely circumstances.
Clear Skies
