KAS Star Party in Aid of Special Olympics - Report was created by spculleton
Many thanks to everyone who came along last night
and made KAS's first public event a success. We met
up at the Equestrian Centre in Kill from around 7.30
and had everything set up in time for darkness to fall
and the clouds to roll in! There were quite a few
gaps seen in the clouds though and our patience was
rewarded once the whole sky cleared. Some thirty or
so members of the public came along and were treated
to views of M13, M31, the Double Cluster and quite a
few other beauties, including sneaking an early peek at Mars. We had two Meade 8" LX90 SCTs, a
Meade ETX 70, a Meade ETX 125, a 12" Discovery Dob,
Apogee RA 88 binos and quite a few 10x50 binos too.
Those who came along and waited patiently for the
clear skies certainly had a lot to chose from!
Most important of all though we have
raised 150 euro for the Special Olympics Ireland.
Something to be proud of.
Thanks again to everyone who helped out and supported us.

Thanks everyone, but it couldn't have worked without the support we got. We'll be back ...
