Minutes of IFAS Meeting at WSP

Meeting took place on Sunday 9 October 2005. Dooly's Hotel Birr, on the occasion of the Whirlpool Star Party.

Chair: David Bell.

1) Financial Report from treasurer, Paddy Brennan. Full and comprehensive details of the financial state of the Federation were given. Clubs were reminded that renewal and affiliation fees were now due.

2) Insurance. The IFAS insurance policy was discussed in great detail. The quality of the deal on offer was stressed, as was the need for more clubs to take this opportunity and therefore reduce the premium for all. 8 March 2006 is the renewal date for this premium. Full details are available from committee officers.

3) Eclipse Trip 2006. Everything is organised and running according to plan. Final details on flight times and so forth have yet to be finalised and confirmed. Persons travelling will be informed as soon as possible. More places can be arranged if necessary.

4) Election of new committee. The new committee were nominated/elected as follows;

Chairperson: Albert White, SDAS
Vice-Chair: John O'Neill, IAS
Treasurer: Bart Busschotts, Astro2
Secretary: Shane Culleton, KAS
PRO to be absorbed into duties of the secretary.

Those present expressed their deepest gratitude to the outgoing officers for their excellent efforts over the years; David Bell, Chairperson; Paddy Brennan, Treasurer.

With no other business to discuss the meeting was closed.
