Annular eclipse success in Polop

The ecliptomaniacs had success on 3rd October from a small quite town called Polop in Alicante Province in Spain. This is one of Brian Seales' photos - note the second image of the eclipsed sun contained within the first - this was due to some sort of internal reflection.



Why Polop? Well, we had to do some driving to avoid some cloud banks (during the week I spent in Spain, we had totally clear skies on all but two days!), and Polop was where we ended up. Anyway, it's such a great name for an eclipse observation site! :lol:

Hey guys,

Congratualtions on seeing the eclipse. It was looking a little close there for a while. We managed a perfect view from Monte, Pego. Denia seemed to be clear for the most part though intermittent clouds.

Nice photo too. Here are 2 of mine. See you at the next SDAS meeting. We'll share all the stories there!
