Seanie, I do not know if I would be able to make solar filters myself!! Is it something a total amateur could have a go at? (I'm sure the DAS members would help me out though).

I will contact Andy McCrea about the Astrosolar film and see what he thinks anyway.

As far as photo's are concerned I have time to decide whether to buy a new camera but John is probably right - I don't want to miss anything! I love the idea of the dictaphone, though I am tempted to use it to record my experience of the eclipse (especially if I have to give a talk on my return Connor!!)

It sounds like they'll be a few of us on the Cork flight on the Friday evening so we could have our own Star Party on the way!!
