hi all,
the South Dublin Astronomical Society will have their monthly meeting tonight, Thursday, January 19th at 8pm in Gonzaga College in Ranelagh.
the talk tonight will be "A Full Year of Moons" to be given by John Flannery. Come along and find out why the Moon has exceptional highs and lows this year, learn about the Pleiades occultation in December, who once thought insects were responsible for the dark markings on the Moon, and much more about aspects of the Moon that can be viewed just with the unaided eye in 2006.
the second part of the meeting will feature a Question and Answer session on telescopes . . . especially for people who recently bought those offered by Lidl before Christmas.
also, we will have an exclusive showing of the newly released JPL short documentary about Cassini at Saturn.
hope to see you there!
John
