hi everyone,
I should be ready to upload the May/June edition of the IFAS newsletter to the board by this weekend. If you have any items that you would like to include then please send a note to skynotes at eircom dot net. There's no room available for pictures unfortunately but if you've a meeting notice, for sale ad, etc. then feel free to drop me a line in the next day or two.
as a teaser, the May/June issue will feature an interview with well-known astronomy author Phil Harrington (courtesy of Shane Culleton), Shane's second installment of interesting double stars for observers, an article on solar neutrino's by Al White, details for the 8 June 2004 transit of Venus, and the second part of the ESO article on the origin of comets.
skynotes for the period include the May 4th total lunar eclipse, comet NEAT, and a daylight occultation of Venus on May 21st.
best,
John
