Transit of Venus - Cork Astronomy Club

Cork Astronomy Club has organised an observing session at
the club's observatory site i.e. South Aer grounds, adjacent to
Cork Airport. Observing will commence at circa 7.30 a.m. and
will continue throughout the a.m.

Can someone who is not a member of the Cork Astronomy Club come to the observing session?

As an ordinary member id love to see many non members present, why we dont even charge people to look through our telescopes

Will def try and drag some friends. I've been reading that you need eye protection to directly view it. Where could I get that locally, if it doesn't cost a fortune!

Do not use welding glasses, take notice of what anybody says, these are dangerous
I will use BAADAR filter material abail from Andy Mc Crea (North Down Telescopes)in Northern Ireland at €20 for an A4 sheet.

The BAADER film comes in an A4 sheet, which you can make filters or `eclipse shades` etc. out of. Very good value for EUR20. (EUR33 inc p&p in Artane, EUR26 inc p&p from England, so North Down seems to be the place to buy it from)
