Quantum Leap

Folks - the Quantum Leap from RTE 1 were over here in celbridge tonight to (finally) record the programme they wanted to do on observatories in Ireland.

They recorded the whole programme from the back garden in the pouring rain - a first for Mary Mulvihill Kevin Sweeney of Brownstown Observatory (Maath) also attended and I made sue Eamonn Ansbro in Kingland (Roscommon) got an honourable mention

I reckon there's probably a good 10 minutes of airtime there and RTE really are interested in amateur astronomy in Ireland so it was great that they've supported the community in this way. Hopefully there'll be more in the future.

Anyhow, it will air tomorrow night on RTE Radio 1 at 20:30. For those who miss it, they usually put up the programme on their website within a day or so. Check it out on Friday if you miss it live:
