Gamma-Ray Astronomy in Galway was created by galwayskywatchers
The next meeting of the Galway Astronomy Club takes place on Monday the 27th of September at the Forster Court Hotel at 8pm, for this we welcome Galway Scientist and Gamma ray astronomer Dr. Mark Lang.

He Graduated from University College Dublin in Experimental Physics in 1987, he then did a Pre-doctoral Fellow at the Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics 1988-90 and obtained a Ph.D in Gamma-ray Astronomy from University College Dublin in 1991. Appointed as a Junior Lecturer in Applied Physics at the NUI Galway in 1992, and as a College Lecturer in 1996. Visiting Scientist at the Whipple Observatory 2000.

His current research interests include Very High Energy Gamma-ray Astronomy and is a associate member of the VERITAS Collaboration. aswell as a member of the VERITAS Executive Committee. His talk is entitled "The Universe at its highest Energies".
