Guys,

Over the next week there are three AI talks around the country. These are the rescheduled Dr.Stuart Clark series of talks which were postponed due to Dr. Clarks illness.

"The Day the Sun Attacked the Earth" will look at the major solar flare of 1859 which caused huge damage around the glove

The details are as follows;
November 5 (Monday) 8pm Arts Millennium Building - NUI Galway
November 6 (Tuesday) 8pm Jury's Hotel, Western Road, Cork
November 7 (Wednesday) 8pm Dundalk Institute of Technology, Dundalk

Admission is €3 to AI and IFAS Club members, OAP's etc. €5 others.
Also IFAS club committee members are invited as AI's guest. If there is someway these talks can be used to the betterment of the local clubs in the area please contact me asap.

Oh also forgot to add... As AI will be bringing in such renowned speakers please feel free to contact me if you think AI and your club could run one of these talks jointly.

Now that would be something:)

Dave,
as an long time instigator of old feuds, this is one post I really admired reading. A very welcoming offe by AEye, and one that I hope is looked upon with some positive beginnings.

By the way, will IFAS members also get free tea and biscuits to further relations? ;) :lol:

I'd just like to echo Seannie's comments. If I were to live in one of the towns these talks are on in I'd definitely go and make it my business to thank AI for hte offer in person.

Thanks Guys, appreciate the comments.

Seanie: The tea and bikkies are obligatory:)

I *really* hope that the we are slowly leaving the days of animosity and rivalry are behind us and that one small step at a time, we can all move forward together in a spirit of goodwill and co-operation and mutual respect.

It won't be easy but then as JFK once famously said, "We don't do these things because they are easy". Lets take the small steps and see where it leads us. Remember where we were a few years ago? At least were at a better place now.
