Programming today is a race between software engineers striving to build bigger and better programs, and the universe trying to produce bigger and better idiots. So far, the universe is winning.

Weather looks iffy for tonight, there is the possibility of some clear spells. I'll be there regardless with both fingers crossed and a silent prayer on my lips.

Hi,
Hope the IAS Sidewalk at Sandymount goes well tonight. Had a good night on Thursday with the Northumberland 12" Refractor at Cambridge. Goods views of the Moon, Castor and Saturn (nice to spot Enceladus).
Was clear here again last night.
John

I was driving down to Sandymount under a black sky, thinking this is another evening messed up by the weather.
David, Liam, Chris,Kevin and Paul were already there waiting for me.
We stood around talking for a bit and when it stopped raining we set up a few scopes and talked astronomy for about an hour. You would never expect people to be out walking on such a cold damp evening.
20 people came by and had a look at the only object to appear, the first quarter moon.
Hi to Michael Murphy down under Thanks to all who came along, it was fun as usual .
Here is the link to the results page for International Sidewalk Astronomy Night pub29.bravenet.com/forum/2432970464/
which is filling up with reports as peope get it together. You can read how it went in other countries.
I hope ISAN and Irish weather will be more compatible for IYA 2009
