EAAS A.G.M. was created by stevie
The annual general meeting of the East Antrim Astronomical Society took place this evening in Ballyclare High School, County Antrim. Unfortunately, the outgoing chairperson of the society, Neil Patterson, has had to stand down from the committee due to work commitments, as has Patrick Watson. We thank them both for their efforts over the past year.
However, I am sure their many friends and admirers in IFAS will be delighted to hear that Mia Hanna has been elected to serve as Chairperson and that Kieran Rooney has joined the committee.
The full committee is as follows;

Chairperson - Mia Hanna
Vice-Chair - Mark Stronge
Treasurer - Phil Matchett
Secretary - Stevie Beasant
Committee member - Eamon Keyes
Committee member - Kieran Rooney

Thanks for the update Stevie.
Pass on my regards to everyone in EAAS, to the the outgoing committee for their work during the year and a warm welcome to the new committee. I've every confidence that Mia will be well able to put some control (crack the whip) on all you lads and ladies in east antrim - even Kieran! :-)

Sorry Michael.... can you clarify if I was in the lads or the ladies or do you mean that rare, gifted group of complete nutters who spend 4 hours trying to take an image of one object while all the observers have completed a Messier Marathon :lol:

Congratulations to all. As an East Antrim astronomer myself I look forward to the opportunity to put old squabbles aside and work together on the promotion of our hobby - especially as we approach IYA2009!
