More info on the server outage is available at The Planet's forum.
See forums.theplanet.com/index.php?showtopic=90185
The server which hosts IFAS was not affected by the power outage and continued to operate during the outage but the nameservers which are used to resolved the domain were affected by the outage.
These nameservers have now been moved to alternative facility which will hopefully not be affected by any further outages, however The Planet has said they will need to cut power to the facility either Saturday the 7th or 14th at midnight CDT for 4-6 hours to replace the electrical gear.
Regards

That's something else... how long was IFAS out of action for in total? I've never heard of a data centre having an explosion like that before!
