Hi all,

The Web Team has been working hard on a new website for IFAS behind the scenes.
The new website has a lot more features like
- Calendars
- Blogs
- Classifieds section
- Maps
- News Feeds
- Articles
with the potential to add lots more features without any disruption.
To have a look at it, visit: www.irishastronomy.org/

We will be migrating to the new website this Saturday, the 19th of July which will require some downtime.
We are planning to bring down the site from 10am and will hopefully be migrated by 6pm.
We have identified that some issues in the migration, they are:
- Avatars do not get migrated
- Usernames with quote marks or apostrophes - the apostrophes/quote marks will be stripped from the username in the migration.
If anybody has any issues after the migration, they should email the Web Team, at webteam@irishastronomy.org

Regards
The Web Team

Hi Darragh,

Just had a quick look at that here with XP Pro SP2 / IE6 and the menu that is supposed to be on the left actually sits on top of the centre text column.

Known problem?

I have tried it with IE7 on XP SP2 and it looks ok, can you send me a screenshot of it please?

Thanks

Darragh

Just something un-related, for security reasons you really need to update to IE7. Staying on old browser versions is dangerous.

Hi Darragh,

Just checked it out with Firefox 3 and XP pro.

One comment - I've a wide screen monitor and there is a large margin on either side of the page. This does not happen on the current site.

Hi Darrah,

Looks fine now I'm at home using Firefox 3 and the Hardy Heron. One small issue - some aliasing is visible on the banner text - possibly a resizing issue?

Otherwise looks great!

Cheers,

Paul.
