PIC is an acronym for the "Particle-In-Cell" approach, a computational methodology for the numerical modelling of plasmas
John graduated in 2004 from NUI Galway with a 1st class
B.Sc. honours degree in Experimental physics wielding the Isotron Westport Prize in Experimental Physics 2004 and a plethora of University prizes for first place in examinations. After completion of his undergraduate education in 2004.
John joined the team at the Computational Astrophysics Laboratory in the I.T. Department, National University of Ireland, Galway, where he pursued a Ph.D. in the application of high-powered computational models to problems in pulsar
emission theory in pulsar magnetospheres.
