Tonight, Friday October 10th, TAS members will travel to the village of Ballylinan near Stradbally, Co. Laois to volunteer on another one of its Public Outreach Observing Sessions. We will meet residents of The Village Estate on the green with telescopes and binoculars. Leaflets have already been dropped in.

If the weather doesn't play ball, we have the nearby St. Anne's Hall booked to take the event indoors.

It is all free, starts from 9:00pm, and all are welcome to attend (of ALL ages!).

To get to Ballylinan:
Heading from Tullamore -> Portlaoise -> heading for Carlow on the N80, you come to the N78 interchange, a sort of T-junction a couple miles out of Stradbally. Turn left onto the N78 heading for Athy. Ballylinan is 1 mile up this road.

Clear Skies,

Seanie.

Nice one.
Best of luck Seanie.
The weather here is awful.
Hope it is better up there with you.

REPORT:

Well, bar one comittee member, we turned up. Weather was very poor, as was obvious. But to make matters worse, only one person turned up! Our local contact felt embarressed, but we told him not to be. People just did not want to leave their homes on the kind of night it was - better to stay in with their fires and evening telly. Granted, if it was clear, the targeted estate has over 90 homes in it, it would have turned out well we think.

Them is the breaks!
