EAAS Meeting November 3rd was created by EPK
This month the EAAS is very pleased to host a talk by Dr. Don Pollacco.

Dr. Pollacco is based at Queens University Belfast, and is the principal scientist working on the (Super) Wasp North project, which has discovered many new planets outside the Solar System.

QUB is one of the founding members of the Project, and Dr. Pollacco will speak on the project, the exoplanet discoveries by the team and the plans and possibilities for the future.

The (Super) WASP project –the Wide Angle Search for Planets- is primarily
aimed at the detection of extrasolar planets via the transit technique.
Detecting these event is challenging to ground based observations, and
(Super) WASP is the most ambitious ground based detection system currently
operational.

I was deadly serious - I am interested in the work of Dr Pollacco and would welcome the opportunity to hear him talk about his work.

However, the committee of which you are a member seems to have some other agenda unconnected with the promoiton of Amateur Astronomy so I'll send my apologies to Dr Pollacco along with the threatening email I've received from your charmless Chairperson.
