100 Hours of Astronomy Registration of your events was created by DeirdreKelleghan

If you click into the link and the map and head for Ireland
you will see the events and locations already registered for
the 100 Hours cornerstone events from IFAS clubs.

I am The National Organiser for Ireland so as soon as you know
what you are doing, where you are doing it and when let me have
your details and I will register it for you.

You can either post your event details here , or PM me or e mail
me skysketcher@gmail.com.

Event details can be edited , but ideally send me as much detail as possible
including the Lat and Long of the location of your events and
the web address, e mail , contact details you would like to appear on the
Global Map.A short description of your event is also useful.
Lets put IFAS on the Map

Hi Deirdre,
The club has decided that it'll be supporting this public observing event.
We're running observing nights on March 7th and April 2nd-5th.

The March event is a trial run to see how city observing goes.

We'll be meeting from 6.30pm on each of the nights above with scopes and club members and hopefully as many of the public as possible.
The location is at O'Callaghans strand in Limerick, 52d 40m North, 8d 38m west.
We hope to get good views of the Moon, Venus, Saturn and some bright clusters.

So all we now is good clear weather.:)

So much for the March event, the weather was atrocious !:(
A number showed up anyway, we were nearly blown off the strand into the river and the pelting rain... !!
One thing we were able to do was be happy that once we got some good weather that the site would be very good for general public observing.
Lets hope April has better weather.

Thanks for trying down there , it is always a hit and miss affair.

At least you now know you have a good site for 100 Hours. Fingers crossed for
a clear week :)

If any other club has plans for to take part in this global cornerstone
could they please let me have the details by the end of this week if possible.
Please be aware that each club has 160 euro to spend on promoting 100 Hours in their
locations , you will be repaid at the end of the year by IYA money.

Many thanks
