Sorry for the last minute posting on this but we had a lot to do to get enough laptops together with the software.
8.00pm 2nd Feburary
Image Processing Workshop
A hands on evening looking at the power of Photoshop for processing ccd and DLSR images.
The speaker is a bit of a bore though!

Since he doesn't want to blow his own trumpet, I'll give it a toot.
Should have been up earlier, but I haven't been able to connect to the net for some reason.
A Digital Image Processing Workshop
Speaker – Kieran Rooney (NIAAS)
Despite only coming to Astrophotography relatively recently, Kieran Rooney’s images as “Phoenix” have won praise throughout Ireland and the United Kingdom for their excellence.
Regularly featured in Astronomy publications and winning many online
competitions, his images are the culmination of painstaking preparation,
long nights imaging and many hours spent processing the data to end up as the breathtaking images we have become accustomed to seeing. In this workshop Kieran will show how processing can get the maximum out of your images.
We will be using a number of laptops in this “hands on” evening so NIAAS members can see at first hand how software can make an immense difference between the initial image and the finished product.

And very good he was.
Unless you'd a Vista based laptop that wouldn't load in stuff, despite trying for an hour.
Which was my situation, of course.
Great to see how the image emerged from the raw data.
