Not a bad night,
Myself, Paul (lunartic), John Murphy and noobie Ryan turned out last night. Not a great evening with ever threatening fog and one or two gorse fires.
We did manage to see Lulin which looked pretty much the same in my 11 as it did in my 10x50s a few weeks ago.
We also saw the ghost of Jupiter, a planetary nebula in Hydra and Ceres (whoever invented goto should get a nobel prize
). Ceres looked yellow/redish to the naked eye, can anyone confirm that?
We also saw Saturn but due to the conditions there was no real detail to be seen.
We wrapped up at 11ish as the fog/mist was beginning to get worse.
Michael.
