DAS Observing Session - 100 Hours was created by nectarine
Deise Astronomy's 100 Hours Observing Session finally went ahead last Friday evening (10th April). The weather conditions were excellent and over the course of the evening we had between 50 and 60 people come along.
The site we use in Dungarvan is opposite the main town (Abbeyside) next to an old church and there's not too much light pollution (apart from pesky lights all round the church.....). Anyway, we had about 8 telescopes and the seeing conditions were perfect - Saturn was a fabulous site and we were treated to a lovely golden-orange moon rising over the bay which created a 'stairway to heaven' across the water towards the town.

Having a look through Eugene's scope at Saturn....
