We have confirmed the date for the next SAC Burren Starparty
as Saturday 11th of September 2010.

We will follow the same format as this year with
Observing on Friday & Saturday nights at the Dolmen.
There will be 3 or 4 speakers for the Saturday and
we will again run a 'nights sky' lecture at the
Caherconnell Ring Fort media centre Saturday evening
before observing.

Here's to good weather for next year!

Due to the fact that this years event was a first time affair
our timetable was a little 'loose'
apologies for that but next year it will be set in stone.

One or two attendees also asked this year why we weren't running a 'Dinner'.
The short answer is that we decided as a club to at least try
to run a 'starparty' in the true sense of the word as opposed
to a lecture convention.
Therefore running a dinner on the main observing night was
and is not an option for us.

We appreciate that for some the journey to the Burren is nice trek
but we are essentially trying our best to have the best of both worlds.
So for those only interested in the talks we will endeavour to have top drawer
speakers with modest entry fee,
and for the serious observer were confident that under clear skies
it will be worth the trip.

We have also pinpointed an alternative viewing site,
reasonably nearby,
as a back up in case the local conditions are unfavourable.

So pencil in 11th of September 2010 into your diary
and we will see you all then!
