Looks like the clip has been pulled from the RTE website.
So, David Moore's representation of THOUSANDS of eyewitness reports submitted this evening must be folly now!
Seanie.

Myself and Carl sent RTE a stinker of an e-mail a few mins ago.
Oh there was a meteor just nowhere near the proportions touted on the RTE piece. Nothing that any of us who observe the sky havent seen many times before.

Maybe just coincidence, but AI's website seems to have crashed.

Just in from doing an interview lasting almost a half hour on Midlands 103. I chatted with 5 callers who were taken live on air out of the tens that did, and indeed, a large object was seen over the Midlands heading northwards. Various reports say it was the size of 2 footballs to a helicopter on fire. To one person it was white-blue in colour, another said it was orange. One eyewitness in Coole in Westmeath actually saw it enter the atmosphere at an elevation of 45 degrees. It disappeared at the northern horizon, travelling in a straight line, still burning. He reckoned it was heading in the Cavan direction.
There was great interest during the interview, and I hope that people will drop the Midlands AC an account of their sightings.
