Programming today is a race between software engineers striving to build bigger and better programs, and the universe trying to produce bigger and better idiots. So far, the universe is winning.

Aubrey Glazier looking good in Sandymount , thanks for coming along to share the sky.
Patrick Wynne from DIAS also helped out on the night.
Liam Smyth was busy , not sure what he is doing here.
Simon Potterton came along with his lovely new scope .
Vivian and Bobby came along to find out how to use Bobby's Christmas gift scope
We had lots of families as it was mid term.
Val Dunne in action .
I gave out Global Astronomy Month / IFAS stickers for all the scopes on the night.
These stickers will be available to download here soon.
Thanks to Val Dunne, Liam Smyth, Robin Moore,Michael Murphy, Simon Potterton, Aubrey Glazier, Patrick Wynne , Bobby and his mum , and all who contributed to the evening. We had about 50 attendees , most of them stayed for the whole period just to talk and view.
The moon was its usual wonderful self, Theophilus, Cyrillus, and Catharina looked amazing. Several messier objects were shown in spite of the light pollution in Sandymount. Mars was also a target and before the session finished Saturn made an lovely showing over the sea.
Next session in Sandymount is March 19th All Welcome
March 6th I will be having a Saturn Viewing in Wicklow Mountains National Park
8pm - 10pm All welcome FREE event Upper Lake Car Park more details soon.
March 20th is International Sidewalk Astronomy Night
