Folks - IFAS has a nominal position within the RIA. From time to time they send on material. Here is one such request and I have forwarded it on for information.
If anyone is interested, let me know and I can forward you on another one-page info document.

ESTABLISHMENT OF A NEW COMMITTEE FOR CHEMICAL AND PHYSICAL SCIENCES
The Academy Committee for Chemical and Physical Sciences is a committee of the Royal Irish Academy, with a remit to pursue strategic and policy development in the areas of chemistry and physics on an All-Ireland basis. The Committee promotes the disciplines by organising lectures, conferences and events on relevant topics and on policy issues involving the science community, with a focus on academia. For more information on the activities of the committee in its last term, please see attached.
INVITATION
The Academy wishes to hold elections for a new Chemical and Physical Sciences Committee. You are invited to vote in the elections.
REGISTER
To vote in the elections, you are required first to join the Electoral Register, by entering your details on this website: www.keysurvey.com/survey/293079/281a/
You must be working in Ireland or Northern Ireland, have an interest in areas covered by the Committee, and have an email address. People who have joined the electoral register will be eligible to nominate themselves for membership to the Committee, and will also be eligible to vote in the forthcoming elections.
The Committee’s new term of office will begin in May 2010, with elections happening in early April. Institutional nominees to the Committee are also being sought at this time.
Registration for the Electoral Register closes at 5pm on 8 March 2010
