Deirdre,
Thank you for traveling down to Kerry to give us a talk and to talk to the students of Fenit National School. We followed up your talk with an observing session there last night for the school and the local Cubs group. We had four telescopes and several sets of binoculars for the 40 or 50 kids and parents that attended. We took some photos and had a local freelance photographer there taking pictures too. Will post some later.
We showed them the planets and some of the brighter stars between 8:30 and 10:45.
Michael Scully.

Thanks Michael , it was a very positive visit to Kerry and I am delighted with the multiplier effect .
I spoke to the school principal this morning , who was thrilled to see so many children, teachers and parents turning up later at the school to see Saturn in particular. She was delighted with the reaction to the talk and the whole experience she related will be written up as part of the schools application for a Discover Primary Science Award.
The principal spoke about the Kerry Astronomy Club members paitience in answering questions about the sky all evening. The school were absolutly in awe of the whole thing.
I am so pleased the skies stayed clear for you to share the sky with the children from the School. Thanks again to Kerry Astronomy Club for their hospitality and for following up with a star party.
The entire event talk and star party in relation to St Brendans National School Fenit was part of The Saturn Observation Campaign , GAM2010 and StarPeace.

Some pictures from Fenit National School yesterday.
The many moons of Saturn.
.
3D time.
.
No one went away empty handed.
.
Mars was high up!
.
The queue for a look at the real thing, Saturn...
.
Good night had by all.
