Hi
Planning on going observing in Mellifont Abbey Co Louth this evening.
The last time I was there it seemed a fairly good option with dark skies, no barriers etc. if anyone knows if this has changed recently please let me know.
Hoping to meet up there about 9ish if anyone else is interested.
Kind Regards
dbran

Hi Michael
It went quiet well. There was five of us including myself, John Daly, John Cori, Tom from Ardee Val Dunne. There was also a bunch of local guys who kept us company for the night looking into the scopes. Skies were mostly clear.
I managed to get this shot of NGC2903.
So it was a good night's observing

Hello David,
Just wondering how the rest of the evening went?
Did it clear up later on? I was a very nice
location. Would of loved to stayed
for longer.
Talk soon,
John

Yes.
It cleared up nicely with clear views for most of the rest of the evening. We ended up staying out until about 1.15am but might have stayed out longer if there were more people there.
Regards

Nice choice of location Dave, glad it all went well for you and the boys. I plan to do the same at Clonmacnoise sometime in the Autumn. I was there once during an evening but it looked great had it been a dark clear night later on.
