SAC will be holding an astronomy night at
Limerick Institute of Technology

There will be a lecture entitled
'Our place in the Universe'
SAC will also be (weather permiting) holding a
public observing session afterwards.

Tuesday November 9th Midlands AC will host a Telescope Night with practical demonstrations in the Presbyterian Church, High Street, Tullamore from 8:00pm. Admission €2.00, all welcome and bring your telescope or binoculars too.

South Kerry Astronomy Group have planned the following:
7th Nov: opening of Science week in Tech Amergin, Waterville by Dave Mc Donald...Chair of IFAS.
8th Nov: Outside viewing with Telescopes and Bino's at Ballinskelligs Beach around 8.00 pm.
9th Nov: Lecture by Kate Arturs, Member Astro Physicist with the theme 'Our place in Space' to take place in Tech Amergin, Waterville at 7.30.
10th Nov: Outside viewing with Telescopes and Bino's at Mannix Point & Cahern Bridge Caherciveen around 8.00 pm.
11th Nov: Outside viewing with Telescopes and Bino's at Dromid Football field, co Kerry around 8.00 pm.
12th: Meeting with two scout troops in Coomacoiste, co Kerry at 7.00 pm.
13th: Children's Workshop Caherciveen Library around 2.30
14th Family Fun Quiz in Lobster Bar Waterville, co Kerry around 6.30 followed by closing talk in Tech Amergin (yet to be confirmed).
The above viewing are obviously weather dependent...except the scout meeting which will take place inside with another theme if the weather is not good.

Don't forget, Club Secretaries etc., to add your event to the IFAS Calendar (see link on the menu at left). It would be great to build this up so that visually it looks like (and backs up) what all the clubs are doing around the country AND the vast amount of venues and topics taking part.
If anyone needs help on how to use the Calendar, let me know. The only real issue might be that your venue is not added which will have to be done by one of the Super Admins (Darragh or myself).
Already there has been a very good response from IFAS member clubs and their speakers togive talks outside the norm to various venues around the country. Remember, keep www.scienceweek.ie up to date and also check there for the latest event+venue information for your area.
