IAS/SDAS Observing on Friday 25th was created by michael_murphy
Hi All,

The weather looks good for Friday evening.

Anyone on for an Observing session at the Sugarloaf?

The plan would be to meet at Healy's Pottery at 9PM and move on to the Sugarloaf for 9.30?

Details of Healy's Pottery and Sugarloaf are on the IAS website under South-side observing sites.

Michael.

If the weather lives up to expectations, I'll be there.

Was keeping an eye on the weather thinking of you guys while in work last night and knew there was a patch of cloud approaching from the North. Needless to say, it arrived over Wicklow pretty much bang on your meet-up time at Healys Pottery: blink:

I hope you guys knew it was just a patch and waited it out because by 10:30pm it was gone and the clear skies were back, certainly over Bray. In fact I think the North wind carrying this over actually cleared some of the muck out of the stagnant air because the transparency looked better to me after the skies cleared again.

If you did stay, I know that hour would have passed quickly between set-up and chat because I always had great craic and banter and discussion with the lads while waiting it out before.

BTW, did the Commercial jets with their headlights on ruin your dark adaptation! When the wind is blowing from the North they use a different runway at Dublin Airport and the approach Vector is from the South and the planes come in low right over Wicklow and Bray Head rather than in off the Irish sea from the east over the Northside of Dublin. Was a real conveyor belt of Jets last night. One would just be flying over my head and I'd already see the next Jets headlights coming from behind Bray Head.

Anyway, lets hear how the seesion went assuming you stuck it out!

Its absolutely killing me not having observed or met up for a session with you guys in so long. I'm thinking of re-naming my scope Humpty Dumpty! .....cause all the kings horses and all the kings men....and me....couldn't put humpty back together again.... (I can put it together again of course, its just finding the bloody time! )
