Balbriggan Astronomy Club Now Up And Running was created by carlobeirnes
I’m very happy to report after a long and hard road Balbriggan Astronomy Club is now up and running. Our first public watch will be for the Perseid meteor shower held on Saturday and Sunday August 11th and 12th in the dark grounds of Ardgillan castle. The Perseids will be a great start for the clubs first observing session as you don’t need any telescope equipment to view the meteor shower. But we will have lots of telescopes on hand to view the wonders of the solar system.
I've set up a facebook page for the club at www.facebook.com/BalbrigganAstronomyClub Balbriggan.info community website set up our new page www.balbriggan.info/Balbriggan_Astromony...outing_25jul12.shtml . Please visit the links and feel free to leave a comment. If you have a telescope feel free to bring it along, we will have plenty of telescopes there for you to view through. Remember you don’t need a telescope to view the meteor shower.

The clubs mission: To promote interest in astronomy and space for all ages, give the children in the community a focus and an interest in the night sky, which will open their eyes to the wonders of science.
This is an astronomy club for the young and old to develop their interest in astronomy and space, from the novice to the more avid astronomer will try cover a broad area to facilitate everyone's knowledge and experience. We will be holding watches each month which will involve looking at the planets, star clusters, asteroids and many galaxies.

Looking forward to seeing you all,

Ps,
Feel free to ask any questions regarding the club.
