We are getting some great feedback about the club. My daughter Ciara and I where out doing some promotional work for the club. Let's hope we get some clear skies on the nights of the meteor shower.

Hi all,
It was great to meet you all at our first astronomy club outing. It was a great turn out for the meteor watch and I really enjoyed chatting to everyone. The interest I got from the community was so unexpected. I want to give a big thanks to Kim and Joe at Balbriggan.info for letting us use their property and feeding us all with lots of refreshments. The only thing that let us down was the weather. However some of the kids present did see one Perseid It was great to hear them scream with excitement.

Here I am setting up the clubs telescope with Karl Brady and Jimmy Kavanagh in case you’re wondering I’m the handsome one in the middle :>)).

Balbriggan Astronomy Club Members.

The Club will be having loads more events coming up so keep an eye on www.facebook.com/BalbrigganAstronomyClub?ref=hl and www.balbriggan.info/ for everything that in happening in the night sky.

Fair play is all i can say, only seeing this now and its great to have a club in Balbriggan, getting use of the park was a grea job how did you swing that? Whens the next event? Have a 12 inch dob reflecter if you ever need it brought down, crude but old school scopes have their place and i love the old way of doing it(as long as someone with a goto is nearby before i lose the plot after awhile of losing things!)
