Hi all,
having been hosted to Franks overwhelming lecture about the Markree Observatory & Its Catalogue in TAS last night, we are asking him to give his talk on Sunday morning at Cosmos.
Take Note - This observatory spent 6 years catalogueing 60,000 stars every clear night, cross-referencing them, and re-cross referencing them. Frank is doing the same with a programme he wrote to take in the data from the 4 volumes of records, and has been able to add them to Starry Night Pro to show what the sky was exactly like from 1848 to 1856!
Added to the fact that Neptune was discovered around this time, there is speculation that Coooper et all in Markree could have actually 'discovered' it first - only Frank will be able to tell us!
Well done to Frank for a terrific talk last night!
Seane.

This has now been changed - the TAS website has been redesigned a little. The Accommodation List can now be found by clicking the link directly on the left side menu under COSMOS 2005.

Got an accomodation list?
A direct link to the page for Accommodation:

(PS - I know, I have to fix the spelling in the link!)

Hi John,
So far, it will be the regulars as far as I know:
Gerry Maloney who has a very good reputation for second hand (and some new) astronomical merchandise (eyepieces, mounts, finders etc etc).
Andy McCrea of North Down Telescopes.
Terry Moseley will bring his usual book catalogue, most of it second hand but with a vast selection to choose from.
Sadly, I have just been informed that Andromeda Optics cannot come to the event.
