Programming today is a race between software engineers striving to build bigger and better programs, and the universe trying to produce bigger and better idiots. So far, the universe is winning.

Hi folks
Just wondering if anyone was interested in heading down to Wicklow for an observing session this Saturday night? I'd like to have a go at observing the Milky Way region of Scorpius and Sagittarius.
I was thinking the Sugarloaf, I'm not sure if Trooperstown would offer a good enough view to the south, with the trees and all, maybe I'm wrong.
Let me know.
Paul

hi Paul,
Count me in!
I haven't been in Trooperstown for a while but do recall managing to catch Sagittarius between the trees -- M8 was visible with the unaided eye even though it was low. The Sugar Loaf car park may have a better horizon for hunting low-down objects.
See you at the weekend!
John

Should we make it Trooperstown? I know we'll lose some of the southern hemisphere, if there is any wind it will be blocked and being further away from Dublin the skies will be better.
