Its like Pioneer has come across a very distant La Grangian point, like the one where SOHO is place between Earth and the Sun, and the forces of each others gravity is effectively neutral, allowing SOHO to remain in a stable stationary orbit in between.

Interesting article at the above site. Don't think anyone really expets the effect to be anything other than some sort of unexpected built-in glitch (only got to look at all the Microsoft products to see that sort of thing). However, until it has been explained, it will remain 'unexplained' . . .

You never know, we might have all got it wrong all this time. Gravity might only work as we know it near the inner solar system! :wink:
