black holes bright in uv. why? was created by fguihen
i recently viewed an image of two merging blackholes in the UV spectrum and they are really really bright. how are they bright as UV light shouldnt be able to escape from them. where is the uv comming from?

All energy from Black Holes comes from the maelstrom of matter spiralling into their maws.
Not from the Black Hole itself.
You only know it has to be a Black Hole when no other soure of energy can explain the intensity of the radiation coming from such a small area.
The dead centre of our own galaxy is a good example.
