Finderscope for Soligor MT 910 needed for school astronomy was created by DeirdreKelleghan
Would anyone have a finderscope for a Soligor MT 910 /4 reflector ?
A guy gave it to me to find a home for it, the finder is missing is eyepiece end.
Its going to a transition year astronomy group teacher this week .
Perhaps someone has a similiar finderscope that might fit it ?
Or suggest an anternate
There are no funds to buy one so its a give it to me if you dont need it kinda thing.
Thanks
Deirdre

Hi Dee,
Im sure I have one here to suit you.
What way does it fit to the scope?
2 threaded thumbscrews, or the usual finder shoe like on the 200P dobs?
Stephen.

Hi Stephen
A few pics of the finderscope attached there.
As you can see its missing a screw in eyepiece end
Also missing is a screw down thing to hold one of the brackests.
The metal is also broken , so today I will try to make a plastic brace to hold
it as a temporary fix. Am hoping the school has a metal work department but
I have been told that you cannot fix die cast metal , perhaps it can be glued and then braced
with thin metal. ?
Anyway tomorrow it goes to this teacher in Kilcoole , who started an astronomy module for Transition year
pupils about two years ago. So I support his work when I can. Am not sure if there would be any money available from the school for this fix it up.
I had already written to him giving him your contact details in case you had something cheap to sort it out.
Will get back to you when I speak to him tomorrow and see how he feels about the problem.
Mostely when people give me scopes to find homes for , there are things wrong with them
Thanks
Deirdre

Ill see what I have here that fits like that. From memory, the rdf's come with a foot like that, but Ill have a look around and see what is there.
I wouldnt be wanting anything for them. It might even be a finder I dont use from one of my own scopes!
The bracket is the big problem there, broken cast is hard to work with, but it can be welded with the right equipment.
