Tripod Pads

I recently bought a set of Tripod Pads for my Celestron CPC 925 from www.tripodpads.com

Very pleased with the quality of the material that is used in their manufacture, the "Safety Yellow" colour makes 'em real easy to find in the dark, when you're calling it quits for the night

A real good buy in my books.

Can you see any reason why celestron dont just supply these on the ends of their tripods in the first place rather then having to buy them afterwards seperately.

Of course I can David, Celestron want to sell loads of add on accessories, so boosting their corporate profits.

Bearing this in mind, I was happy not to buy them from Celestron and to give an enterprising guy like Brandon at Tripod Pads a twist

And the fancy celestron ones cost £60. I picked up a set at the Galway star party a few years back and they did make a difference though.

I figured as much, but isnt it a complete rip off, for what look like to me are pieces of rubber that can be made for 5 cents in some cheap chinese factory, or is there anything special about them, except for the price.

I made a set for myself consisting of a cow mat which is inch thick rubber cut in to 3x3" squares works a treat and cost is negliable as they where cut offs going to be recycled.
