Starlight Microfocuser was created by Pat_Dunne
After a year with my CPC 9.25 I decided to upgrade the scope with a Starlight Microfocuser and what a difference it makes. I installed it on to the scope last Friday evening, which took less than twenty minutes. Pleased to say that a very good set of instructions came with the focuser.

The quality of the product is excellent, a really well engineered piece of kit, it is smooth to operate and lived up to all the reviews and my expectations.

I got some really excellent views of Venus and especially Mars. But it was last Saturday night that really blew my socks off, with what I can only call the most stunning views of Saturn I have ever encountered. I could clearly see the Casini division, a first for me.

I feel that the Microfocuser has improved my scope by at least a good 20% to 25%. A strong recommendation from me, if you have a SCT get your hands on a Starlight Microfocuser.

Bought it directly from Starlight off their website. It was delivered in a little less than a week.

manic dave I tried to PM you but I think some gremlins may have got in the way.

Hi manic dave,
I went for the FTM-CPC9.25 you can see it on the following link
starlightinstruments.com/store/index.php...37_80&product_id=211

While ordering it directly from Starlight Instruments, I mentioned that my scope had the triangular casting on the back, just to be sure. The focuser was delivered in a little over a week from time of order.

All you need is a 13mm or half inch opened spanner. Starlight Instruments supply an allen key with the focuser, which I found a bit short and used one of my own instead. The focuser took less than 20 mins to fit and I would suggest that you fit it while the scope is horizontal on the tripod.

A great bit of kit, which I am well pleased with. Now all I need are a few clear nights :)

Cheers
Pat

Glad your so happy with your purchase Pat, Starlight certainly seem to be well regarded amongst discerning users but it's great to hear it from someone fairly close to home. Clear skies. :)
