Kieth, what focal length are you using on yours?

do you manage to align all 3 stars in the scope?

Yes Dave I can align the three stars very well. I can easily get 3-4minutes of exposure using my 200mm lens which is really 320mm on my canon 40d. Using any wide field lens is as inch, I can get 8 minutes with my 24mm

This is 12 x 15 second shots, 12 dark frames stacked in DSS
Canon 60d, Canon 70-300 lens @ 280mm ISO 800

It may not be the best picture, but Im delighted i got "some" of the nebulousness around the stars.

That's a cool shot Dave, 15secs is no problem how about trying a 2 min sub with careful polar alignment?

Thats the plan Kieth, as soon as the clouds do one.
going to try 2 mins subs at ISO800 if i can get 20 of them ill be happy

Hopefully it will clear soon, but looking at the weather, its a cloudy few night ahead... good luck
