Hi all and happy New year.
On the sun there is a nice collection of spots heading for the limb.
Using my 120mm refractor, Lacerta Herschel wedge and Baader Solar Continuum filter, one large specimen displayed a fine dark umbra surrounded by filamentary penumbra. Following close behind is a cluster of spots, I counted seven, of various sizes. Trailing on their wake was a single spot, perhaps desperately trying to catch up.
A good start to the new year, with luck, it will be a good omen for 2021.
